The year has just begun...

Thinking back to when I was a kid, I remember it being the first day of school and being so nervous. I'm sure we all can remember.

Today I tried to walk into my boys shoes:

  • They went to Public School today... in Slovenia.
  • Stepped into a place where they literally knew no one.
  • Could not understand anything anyone was saying.
  • and could not communicate any needs they might have had.
This is a big! My heart wants to hold on to them. We've been training them since they were born, but I question myself if we prepared them well enough for this. They will hear things I don't want them to hear, and learn things I don't want them to learn.
"I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one." Matthew 17:15

Are they strong enough to shine their light bright for God, even when no one else believes around them? We pray they will be like Daniel, that they would distinguish themselves as possessing something extraordinary. Daniel 6:3 -as my friend Ashley put it.

Today: Success!

  1. They started out with Shawn reading the Proverb of the day. (Proverbs Ch. 3)
  2. They all got to school on time and that's important to me. I was actually a little worried about this. Zack=7:30, Corban=8:00, Nathan=11:00 (for the first day)
  3. They all were picked up with smiles on their faces.
  4. And they are excited for tomorrow :)

I can not tell you how comforting it is to know that God is going with them and in front of them.

The day is over, but the year has just begun...
