Home Ministry

I called my Dad a few days ago, and he is still impressing the truth into his children. What a gift to have come from a family that taught us by example how to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and strength.  Although the whole conversation was full of eternal food, he ended our conversation with a piece of steak to chew on, "Christena, you and Shawn need to look further than preparing your kids for Slovenia. You need to prepare your kids for eternity."

We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Home Ministry!
Christian life is not just to be lived out at church. It is our responsibility, given from the Lord, to live out Christ in the home.

Deuteronomy 6:4-8
Hear, O Israel: The Lord your God is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are (#1.) to be upon your hearts. (#2.) Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Shawn and the kids working on his Dad and Mom's ramp today.

I am noticing that God doesn't give you a time when you are NOT to be impressing your children's hearts with Christ. It is an every moment lifestyle of living out Christ to our children!

Too often today, we send them to learn how to play sports, or to hear about the bible at church, rather than teach them ourselves and spend that valuable time (and commandment from God) with our children.
We have a responsibility to teach our children by
#1 Living it out ourselves
#2 Spending every opportunity teaching our kids how to love the Lord

What is my ministry???
First, it's to love the Lord with all my heart, soul, and strength.
Then it is to teach my children how to do the same.
And then the world around me will see Christ lived out and be impacted.

Writing down this command is so much easier than living out this command!

SAD STATISTIC
70% of youth in America will walk away from church and their faith just 2 years out of High School.
Why? One of the biggest reasons...They said "hypocrisy". "Mom and Dad were one way at church and another way at home..."
