Here is the scoop: We have been praying for many years that the Lord would open wide the doors forevangelism here in Slovenia. We believe that He is answering this prayer with an Evangelistic crusade
the week of April 5-9. Now, if you know anything about our hearts and the heart of Josiah Venture, the
words “evangelistic crusade” are rarely in our vocabulary. On a daily basis we are focusing on individual, life on life relationships, and community investments with our students. Nevertheless, we strongly believe that God is up to something here in SLO that we don’t want to miss.
28 year old Nick Vujicic is of Serbian descent, and was born without arms or
legs. The story of how he found hope in surrender to Christ, and overcame his
difficulties, is really an amazing one (you can see one video at Nick Vujicic in Slovenia
Several of our church leaders in the country have teamed up to bring Nick here
for a 5 day, 5 city speaking tour. The sentence you just read should stop you in
your tracks! First, to have different churches working together on a single
project is almost unheard of here in SLO as the Enemy has made dissention a
key stronghold in this county. Secondly, NEVER BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF
SLOVENIA has the Gospel Message gone out to so many people! In Nick’s 5
day tour there is the possibility of sharing the Good News to over 15,000 people! We have no idea how
many will attend but each city has rented out their largest venue, including the brand new soccer
stadium in Ljubljana! THIS IS UNPRESIDENTED!
In Slovenia there are fewer than 1500 total evangelical believers and only a percentage of those areequipped with skills to lead someone else to the Lord. Because of a lack of man-power, all of the
organizer’s efforts are going towards simply getting this huge event off of the ground in a very short
time. Therefore, as a Josiah Venture team, we have committed to take on the overwhelming task of
providing resources, materials, and training for churches to do FOLLOW UP. This is where we need your help!
We need you to PRAY
PRAY that thousands of Slovenes do hear and receive the Good News of Jesus from Nick’s story.
PRAY that our team would be supernaturally creative as we quickly create training and
follow up materials for believers in this country to use with their coworkers and friends.
We firmly believe that this is a UNIQUE MOMENT IN THE HISTORY OF SLOVENIA! Thank you for partnering with us! We look forward to “following up” with you about this exciting FOLLOW UP project!
